Fake Altars

In Joshua 22, the two and a half tribes of Israel that chose to stay on the east of the Jordon build an "altar" to the Lord, bigger and better than the one in Shiloh. But why? What was their true motive? Disobedience within the body of believers creates "fake altars" that become "larger and better" than the one real thing. We are to worship God in spirit and truth.
