The Bolivian Children’s Fund was established in 2001 as a 503
(c) (1) nonprofit organization for the sole purpose to assist the
needy children in Bolivia through health and education. Presently
we are in partnership with OESER (Organization for education and service
to the community), a Bolivian Christian entity that administers to
the school NUEVO CONOCER (New knowledge) in Cochabamba - Bolivia at
the village of the Candelaria, a settlement of ex-miners, whom in
the mid 1980s lost their jobs when the tin mines were closed. We currently
have at the school 295 children, 90 are in the daycare center, which
keeps growing in numbers due to parents immigrating to Spain and EU
leaving their children to the care of relatives, friends and neighbors.
The daycare prevents these children from being left locked in their
one room homes, where the oldest takes care of the youngest. The other
205 children are from kindergarten to eighth grade. With the help
of supporters, Sabino Road Baptist Church and its members, we have
been able to help provide scholarships for students without means.
We have started a computer lab and added many books to the library.
We also purchased educational materials and subject books for the
children that can’t afford to buy them and provide them with
after school tutoring. Many structural improvements were done in the
school this year and the construction of a new daycare center to meet
the increasing needs. The impact on the lives of these needy children,
parents and the community has been so great and only possible by Sabino
Road’s ongoing support and God’s help to this ministry.
There are still many challenges we must face in order to provide them
with a good Christian education and the tools they must have to embrace
their future.
