Evangelism
Explosion
Starting this January the SRBC outreach ministry is getting an overhaul. We are changing the entire operation in order to create an opportunity for you to get involved. In the past we have combined our EE (Evangelism Explosion) ministry with our Monday night visitation. Starting in January, these two will be completely separate entities.
EE will now be offered as a Sunday night “Preparing University” class. The class will be completely scholastic; there will no longer be “on-the-job training.” We will encourage the EE participants to return on Monday night if they would like the opportunity to practice what they are learning. The Class will be 13 weeks and will cost the participant $30.00 for materials. We will discover tools such as the Diagnostic Questions, how to ask for a commitment, how to start the conversation, and more. We will also take one session to focus on conclusive evidence regarding the Bibles supernatural origin. We will have our first meeting on Sunday, January 17th at 6:00 p.m. in the youth room.
Church-Wide Monday night visitation is now open to everyone. Starting January 18th the family of SRBC is encouraged to take part in our outreach ministry to the community. We will meet in the youth room at 6:00 p.m., divide into teams of two to three people, and depart to visit the following: families that have visited one of our services, individuals in the hospital, regular attendees who have been absent, and shut-ins. For reasons of time limitation, family commitments, or physical disabilities we realize that some of you may not be able to participate in the actual visiting, therefore we have developed the following venues to give you an opportunity to help us make a difference:
-
Bread Team: The Bread team will be involved in the Great Commission by preparing baked goods as a gift for those we will be visiting. The treats will need to be prepared and delivered to the church either on Sunday or on Monday by 6:00 p.m. We also as that the food be wrapped or bagged ready to present to our guest.
-
Follow-up Team: The follow-up team will be involved in the Great Commission by following up on salvation decisions and church contacts by, writing letters, making phone calls, and delivering gifts and materials.
-
Introduction Team: The introduction will be involved in the Great Commission by being prepared to assimilating church prospect into our church through introductions to the staff and other church members, accompanying them to their Sunday school class, inviting them to sit with you during the service and inviting them to lunch.
