Our NEED for Space
A
healthy church is a growing church. We are growing, and growth requires
additional space. The fastest growing component of our membership
is young families with children. We have outgrown our nursery and
toddler space, and we have more babies on the way from within our
membership, as well as from new members joining each month.
Our fellowship hall can no longer accommodate our entire congregation
for church-wide dinners and social events. And at our current rate
of growth – 50% in the last year and a half – we will
exceed the capacity of our sanctuary, even with two services, in the
next couple of years.
We must act now to accommodate our immediate space needs plus our
needs of 2 to 3 years from now.

Acquisition Plan
Due
to building codes and parking needs, we cannot add to or expand buildings
on our current site. Therefore, we must move from our current property
to an existing facility that can accommodate our needs or purchase
land and build such a facility. We need to have a facility ready for
our use in the next year to two years that will seat 600 for worship,
accommodate an equal or greater number for Sunday School and church-wide
fellowship, and meet the needs of babies through seniors in terms
of care, learning, and Christian-based activities.
The four major steps in this process are:
- Selling our church property as soon as possible,
- Raising a significant amount of capital through member gifts and ongoing capital stewardship giving by members,
- Finding and purchasing an existing facility, or buying land and building a new facility, that will meet our immediate to long-term needs, and
- Financing any balance of funding needed beyond the funds raised through the sale of our property and member giving
